Annie Duke and Sandra Naujoks

Female poker players have established several prestigious reputations in the world of poker. Two successful female poker players in the world today are Annie Duke and Sandra Naujoks.

Annie Duke has been a poker pro since 1994. She is the sister of the famous poker pro Howard Lederer. She has a Doctorate degree in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Her brother was at the top of his fame in poker world during the time Annie was in school. It was Lederer who encouraged Annie to try poker. Annie Duke won several poker competitions and became a pro in 1994.

Duke is currently married and has four children. Her own family lives in Portland, Oregon where she plays her roles as both a mother and a professional poker player.

Sandra Naujoks, also known as “Black Bamba”, conquers the poker world in her reign the European Female Player of the Year. This German poker lass also holds the tile of being the second Female Champion of the European Poker Tour, defeating Holger Kanicsh on March 14, 2009. She also topped the EPT German Open – Season 5 EPT No Limit Hold’em on May 29, 2009 with 5618 points and 1 loss. Her total winnings amount to an amazing $1,646,039.

She finished German and History. She chose teaching as her career and she gave up her Graphic Design and Modeling careers. And the poker world opens another new enthusiasm for her.
